Kirk Votes to End Overtime Pay
For the third time, Mark Kirk (R 10th Dist. IL) voted with the Republican majority to strip American workers of overtime pay. Although the Bush administration claims the new regulations will not adversely impact workers, the administration has been advising employers on how to reclassify jobs so workers will no longer qualify for overtime. Labor groups have overwhelmingly condemned the administrations actions.
Lee Goodman, Kirks Democratic opponent in the November election, said, Every chance he gets, Kirk votes enthusiastically with Bush against working peoples interests. Its no wonder Kirk is rated by American workers as being among the worst legislators in the entire country.
